Dear Universe: S.O.S.

1074358566_03a7ce852e

There are days that can only be saved by three things:

  1. Praying for relief (even though I'm irritated with God today)
  2. Looking at pretty pictures
  3. Writing a gratitude list

When your mood is the pits, what are your Top 3 day savers?

Off the top of my head:

1. Something nice to eat... a oomforting thing, like ambrosia fruit salad, or rice pudding, or chocolate, or hot apple crumb with vanilla ice crea.. oh dear, have you noticed the common sugar theme going on here? /sigh

2. I call my mum..

3. And if I can, I take a nap. Which, on days like today, can lead to spending most of the day asleep..

:o)

1. Getting more rest.
2. Having a quiet/inspirational time.
3. Going for a walk.

1. Giving myself permission to be in the dumps.

2. A hot bath with bergamot oil.

3. A cup of Earl Grey tea with rice milk sipped slowly and another one after that if I want it.

1. Chocolate
2. Taking a walk with my dogs
3. Taking photographs

My top three lifesaving devices when I lose faith in the rightness of things:
1) putting on Pure Peace album, lots of flute, quiet inspiring music
2) settling down in a comfy chair to sit in stillness, and especially, breathe from the belly, slow down crazy thoughts
3) walk outside in the field behind my house and watch clouds, sky, the immense lightshow
(getting out of the house in any way is useful, shopping for books is good too)

My moods bring me up and down so frequently, it's almost one good day, one frazzled or down day, so I'm trying to not pay too much attention to 'dire downness'; it's cyclical.

My top three things:

1. Remember to say "thank you."

2. Love on a kitty.

3. Read, read, read.

One of the great things about recovering from alcoholism is that as long as I don't drink, I count it as a good day - no matter how bad it may have "felt."

Thanks.

1. Loving on a kitty is a good thing.
2. Wear boxer shorts and a nice cozy sweatshirt.
3. Read people.com and worry more about famous people than myself.

1. Prayer/Meditation
2. Picking up the phone/getting to a meeting
3. Go mermaid - and get in the tub (with a zena moon candle going, of course!)

1. My daughter
2. My partner
3. My dogs and garden

1, walking the dogs

2. good tea

3. a good movie

these save me when having a bad day. xoxo nita
