For the last few days, every night before bed I watch an hour or two of Carl Sagan's Cosmos via Netflix instant viewing. I adore that guy -- his enthusiasm, his knowledge, his voice, his sly sense of humor -- and have found it both extremely comforting and exciting to learn more about the Universe, our planet, other planets, and how we as humans are here for a miniscule fraction of an eye-blink of time.
This makes life all the more precious to me. How I spend my days, who I spend time with, what I do, where I go. Rather than racing around trying to cram more in, I'm a BIG fan of living mindfully, slowly, usefully and in the present moment. For me, life is not a pie-eating contest -- it is a rich, hearty, multi-course meal to be savored daily.
It's pretty darn sweet when the the table is set with foods we like, but what about those days (weeks, months, years) when the waiters bring out platters piled high with grief, loss, fear, financial hardship, abuse, illness, injustice and/or spiritual bankruptcy? All I know is that this life features a wild menu and it's important to show up as best we can -- and to take good care of ourselves and our world, however that looks and feels to each of us.
Here is a beautiful poem by Hafiz I'd like to share with you today:
God
pours light
into every cup,
quenching darkness.
The proudly pious
stuff their cups with parchment
and critique the taste of ink
while God pours light
and the trees lift their limbs
without worry of redemption,
every blossom a chalice.
Hafiz, seduce those withered souls
with words that wet their parched lips
as light
pours like rain
into every empty cup
set adrift on the Infinite Ocean.
Is someone you know going through tough times? Some helpful candles for them might be comfort, healing, honoring sorrow, grief, in memory of..., prayer for strength and this too shall pass.
What do you need to draw more of into your life? Lately I've been burning a candle for writing, everyday sacred, get off your butt, keep it simple, prosperity and i trust.
And if you need to let go of that which no longer serves you (who doesn't?!), I recommend emotional healing, letting go, let go and let god and i release.
About This Full Moon
This Full Moon in Aquarius comes with Lunar Eclipse, the last in a series of three that have thrown many for a Loop. It's been a summer series that's knocked us off our moorings, while dropping hints of a very different way of ordering the future. In this death of what we've known, people are going through the shock, denial, anger phases to deal with the breakdown. It's an intense time, to say the least! Read the full article here.

Unbelievable energies are streaming in at this time. The moon is always the mirror for the sun's light. Gazing at the moon is one of the ways we can be in communication with the informational download we are getting from the sun. It's a mysterious thing, really. We are invited to be awake and aware. Those candles are a great way to continue the moon and sun energy! Thanks for creating them. Love this post!
