Sunday Simplicity
I love going to bed early Sunday nights. Tonight I've been in bed since 6. Now it's nearly 8. I've been reading poetry and doing a little writing. I'll turn out the light soon.
Today I was interviewed by Jane Carroll for an upcoming radio show. I'm pretty sure it airs online January 15, but I'll let you know. What fun! This morning I wanted to reschedule because I'm sleep-deprived and didn't think I'd be sharp/clever/inspiring/interesting enough -- you know, the usual "I'm not enough" sinkhole -- until I remembered what my very own hands wrote yesterday:
My job in life is to show up and tell the truth.
So, no performance. No hoopla. Just me as-is. What a relief not to have to be more or other than I am, to finally begin feeling I am enough. Zowie.
Tomorrow I'm off to rendezvous with Lisa near the coast, to finish planning our Women at Rest & Play retreat coming up in April. I'll be back Wednesday. Have a wonderful week!
P.S. The photo is not my bed. I wish it was. I love white cotton, dream of billowy all-white cotton bedding, but with hairy dark-haired dogs and a hairy dark-haired man, I stick with dark patterns. (Photo my favourite place, originally uploaded by KickAssCanadian_Chick.)

"to show up and tell the truth"
yes. thank you for this. thank you. this is what it is all about. i want to tape this to my forehead so i have to see it every time i look in the mirror. maybe better would be to put it on a t-shirt. :) hmm...that isn't a bad idea Carla...
have fun on your trip - i hope the time is rejuvinating and productive!
